Born on March 08, 1948, Jayanthy Thiagarajah, 73, passed away Friday December 03, 2021 at her son’s home in Southborough, MA. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Jayanthy grew up in a warm and loving home as a child. She met her husband while attending high school. They married on December 09, 1964. Jayanthy and her husband had four children during their 56-year-long marriage. As a homemaker at first, Jayanthy immersed herself in the business of raising her children and nurturing their ambitions and vigorously promoting their educational aspirations and entrepreneurial spirits. They lived in Nigeria for a number of years before eventually immigrating to Boston in 1987. Their first home in America was in Medford. Soon after, they moved to Framingham where she lived the remaining part of her life. In 1990, she went to work at the Framingham Public Library and remained in that profession for over 21 years.
Jayanthy lived a fiercely simple yet rich life. Throughout her life, Jayanthy was kind, caring and generous especially to those in need. Jayanthy was known for her big heart, thoughtfulness and the gift to put a smile on those around her. She had a zest for life that no one could measure. She always faced life's challenges head on and will be known for her poise, dignity, and restraint as she combated her ALS diagnosis. Jayanthy will forever be remembered for her unswerving devotion to her family, her steely determination, unshakeable faith in God and her beautiful smile. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten by all who knew her.
Jayanthy is preceded in death by her parents Late Meena Subramaniam and Late. Papaiah Jeyasundaram and husband, Late Nagaratnam Thiagarajah. Jayanthy leaves behind her four loving children and their spouses, Gopika (Taka ) , Sanjayan( Entela ), Gokulan ( Rita ) and Gowthamy (Ashok) and six cherished grandchildren, Mayuri, Dhanya, Arjun, Kiran, Teddy, and Alex. She is survived by her sisters Jayalini, Jaleendra , Jeyasri and beloved brother Niranjan and many nieces and nephews.
A family and friend service is being held on Thursday, December 09, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:30 AM at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by private crematory services.
