Jeanne Maria Valborge

Jeanne Maria (Alabre) Valborge, 92, of Marlborough, MA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 27, 2025.

She was predeceased by her husband Jean Rene Valborge on May 2, 1976. Jeanne Maria was born and raised in Dame Marie, Haiti, daughter of the late Absalon Francois and Amincia Alabre. She immigrated to the United States in 1997 settling in New York with her daughter until 2017, then moved to Marlborough, MA with her.

Jeanne Maria was a dress maker and tailor by trade throughout her life. She tailored many gowns for the General Hospital in Haiti and enjoyed her trade in making and tailoring many beautiful dresses.

Jeanne Maria is survived by her daughter, Nicole (Valborge) Gelin and her husband Jacky, her 3 step-children, Ricky, Reginald and Christina Gelin; her step daughter Marie Ange Valborge, her 3 children Barbra, Christopher, Madgeen with her 4 grandchildren and family; her 2 sisters, Marie Marthe Colas and Noyeuse Alabre of Brooklyn, NY; her brother Jean Jules Alabre of Haiti (and the Alabre, Cadestin, Saint Louis, Renois, Francois, Port-Louis, Elane, St Charles, Sam, Sidney, Munro and Colas family) and other relatives.

Jeanne Maria lived a life full of adventure and the desire to help others. Whether she was helping family or friends with tailoring clothing or just simply spending time with them, she always brought comfort and joy to their lives. She enjoyed watching catholic television programs in her spare time she enjoyed doing her word puzzles. She especially liked Steve Harvey and the show “Family Feud”. She lived a long life and leaves many memories for those who loved and knew her to cherish. She will be missed but never forgotten.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St, Hudson MA, 01749. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am in Saint Michael Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to St Michael's Cemetery, 278 Cox Street, Hudson, MA for Committal Services.
