Jeannette (Boisselle) Peabody, 79 died on Wednesday evening, December 29th at Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care in Venice, FL.
She was born on September 7th, 1931 to Rena and Dedier Boisselle in Berlin New Hampshire. She attended Angel Guardian School in Berlin, N.H and later married Ronald Peabody of Milan, NH on July 4, 1955. She worked as a stitcher for Ware Knitters in N.H. and later worked as a PC Board assembler for Data Terminal Systems in Maynard, MA and ACT II in Hudson, MA.
After moving to Hudson, she was a mother and manager of the home with five children. She moved to Venice, FL (to escape the cold as she put it) in 1993. Her passions were reading, taking care of her house and flower gardens, and experimenting with and creating new recipes. She also loved to play cribbage and after moving to Venice, she looked forward to line dancing at the Senior Community Center and also took up Bridge at the same center.
Her children always remember having home cooked meals with plenty of potatoes with the exception of Wednesdays when spaghetti and homemade sauce were the norm, and Saturdays when the aromas of franks, homemade baked brown beans and fresh baked bread filled the room.
Unlike the "Cats in the Cradle", she always had time for helping with the kids scouting, supporting the athletic teams, sewing cloths for her children and her daughter's dolls. This didn't end when the grandchildren came, she then had more reasons to sew doll clothes and crochet comforters for all. When the grandchildren visited in Venice, she always had fun new video tapes made for them.
She is survived by four of her children, Douglas Peabody in St. Petersburg, Florida, Gail Leombruno in Lunenburg, MA, Michael Peabody in Stow, MA and Scott Peabody in Shingle Springs, California. She has 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Her siblings include, Warren Boisselle, Rev. Aime Boisselle, Leo Boisselle and Pauline Langlois.
She is predeceased by her husband, Ronald Peabody and her daughter Paula Peabody.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 8th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. (www.tighehamilton.com)
