Jeannine E. Caissie

Jeannine Caissie, 92, of Hudson, MA passed away on January 8 after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Jeannine was born on July 28, 1931, to Vital and Edmée Richard in Pré-d’en-Haut, New Brunswick, Canada. She lived there happily during her childhood as the second oldest of ten siblings. She left secondary school when her youngest sister was born to stay home and help the family. She moved to Massachusetts in 1951 and earned her GED. She met and married Leo Caissie. They lived most of their 67 years of marriage together in Hudson, MA.

Jeannine was a devoted mother of four boys and was supportive and involved in their interests, chaperoning and accompanying them on their Hudson CYO band trips and Cub Scouts activities. While she spent most of her adult life focusing on being a homemaker, she was also a faithful Catholic and member of St. Michael Parish of Hudson. She also worked for several years at Data Card in Hudson.

After Jeannine and her husband Leo retired, they spent their summers in Shediac, New Brunswick, Canada. Jeannine was especially fond of being “back home” with her family.

A grandmother of six, her grandchildren remember her fondly for her fun sleepovers and her famous grilled cheese sandwiches. Her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren spent hours enjoying family get-togethers at “Mémère’s” house.

Jeannine was predeceased by her parents, Vital and Edmée Richard; her siblings Viola, Marie-Ange, Aline, and Dorine. She is survived by her siblings, Francis, Léo-Paul, Eli, Donald, and Bertille; her husband, Leo Caissie; her sons, Brian, Bob, Richard, and Christopher; her grandchildren, Daniel, Sarah, Alex, Anna, Emily, and Samantha; and two great grandchildren, Melody and Elijah; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours for Jeannine will be held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024, from 8:30am - 9:30am, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St, Hudson MA. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday April 10th, 2024, at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning Street, Hudson MA. Burial will follow at Saint Michael's Cemetery located at 278 Cox St, Hudson MA.

 A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 10th.
