Jennie (Lonero) Meola, 94, of Hudson, died on Friday, Dec. 27th at Marlboro Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Anthony C. Meola who died in 2003.
Jennie was born and raised in Somerville, daughter of the late Peter and Anna Lanero. Jennie and her husband Anthony settled in Hudson in 1963 and in the early 80's moved to South Yarmouth. She returned to Hudson in 2003 after the passing of her husband. She spent many years working for the Hood Rubber Co. in Watertown and later was employed at the former Frye Boot Co. in Marlboro. She enjoyed playing bingo in her spare time and was an active member of the Hudson Senior Center. Most of all, Jennie loved spending time with her family. She always looked forward to the family vacations in Maine, especially with her great grandchildren most recently. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Meola and her loving partner Kevin Wentzell whom Jennie loved as a son of Milford; her granddaughter, Brenda Egan and her husband Scott of Belmont; her three loving great grandchildren, Sara, MaryKate and Sean Egan of Belmont and her two sisters, Margaret Kraby of Holliston and Josephine Maitre of Sanford, ME. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 31st at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Monday, Dec. 30th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
