Joan M. (Kaloustian) Morel, 74, of Hudson, MA, died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at home surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of the late Commander Albert A. Morel Jr. USN, who died in 2000. Commander Morel was a native of Hudson and served in town on the School Committee, as a Selectman, and on the Finance Committee.
She was born in Marlborough, MA, daughter of the late Nesses and Annette (DeAngelo) Kaloustian. A graduate of Hudson High School, and a registered nurse, she dedicated the first part of her life to raising her six children while moving around the world to her husband's many duty stations.
In one 5 year period, she started in Hudson, camped and traveled across the United States before flying to their next duty station in Yokosuka, Japan. After Japan the family moved to Subic Bay, Philippines for 2 more years and then camped across Europe before coming back home to the United States. Truly, around the world, all with 6 children!
She is survived by her six children, Albert A. Morel III of Hudson, MA, Michael A. Morel, Sr. of Hudson, MA, Robert L. Morel of Maynard, MA, Sarah A. McPartlen of Hudson, MA, Margaret F. Giametti of Spencer, MA, and Richard S. Morel of Antrim, NH,. She is also survived by her sister Carol Nesto of Florida, her brother Charles Kaloustian of Hampton, NH, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. One grandchild, Michael A. Morel, Jr. died in 2000.

A Memorial and Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, October 7, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, (www.gracehudson.org) 353 River Rd., Hudson, MA 01749.
Pastor Don Whitesel will be officiating, and contemporary Christian Artist, Todd MacDonald of Nashville, TN will be providing music.
She will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband of 47 years.
