Joanne S. (Schofield) Bourque

Joanne S. (Schofield) Bourque, 67, of Fitchburg, MA and former long time resident of Hudson, MA, died unexpectedly at her residence on August 19, 2023.

Joanne was raised in Hudson, MA, attending local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School class of 1974. She worked as a secretary for many years locally until retiring for health reasons.

Joanne was the daughter of the late Robert S. Schofield and the late Carmella (Napolitano) Schofield. She leaves her many cousins, other relatives and close friends. Joanne was very grateful for the wonderful care she received from her several caregivers over the past few years.

Joanne led a simple life and she enjoyed many hobbies and interests. She loved crocheting and knitting and always surprised her family and friends with aphgans as wedding gifts and baby blankets as gifts for the newborn family members. She would entertain her many relatives and friends with numerous stories of her life experiences, (real life or fictional was always fondly questioned by her listeners). She was very creative and often expressed that in her unique talent using calligraphy. She took pride in her antique doll collection she acquired through the years. Her family and friends will remember Joanne for her love of animals, her friendly spirit and all the times they shared.

Joanne’s wishes were for family and friends to gather for a short time to celebrate her life. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A private committal service will be held later in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
