Joao Braga, 62, of Hudson, died on Sunday, April 12 at Saint Vincent's Hospital in Worcester. He leaves his beloved wife of 38 years, Maria (Andrade) Braga of Hudson.
Born in Santa Maria, the Azores, son of the late Manuel and Emilia (Sousa) Braga, he has resided in Hudson for the past 38 years. He was a member of the Hudson Portuguese Club and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson. Joao will always be remembered and greatly missed by his wife, daughters, family, friends and his dog Kika.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Debbie, Kristin and Tracy Braga, all of Hudson; his sisters, Maria Freitas of Ontario, Canada, Ines Braga of Palm Coast, Florida, Helena Monteiro and Eugenia Gracia both of Hudson; his brother, Jose Braga of Hudson and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 16 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 15, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
