Hudson, MA
John "Bill" Johnson, 88, of Hudson, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA.
He was born in Worcester, MA, son of the late William and Loretta (McCluskey) Johnson.
He was a graduate of Worcester South H.S. and received a bachelors degree from Northeastern University.
He was employed as an engineer for WGBH channel 2 and later worked for Town Paint Co. of Marlboro and Wal Mart Co. of Hudson.
He enjoyed building model ships, was an avid traveler and an enthusiast of sailing, sailing his sailboat out of Hull, MA.
He is survived by his daughter with whom he resided; Nancy McAuliffe and her husband Harold of Hudson, four grandchildren; Marykate Bohane of Hudson, Mary Foster of Hanover, MA, John McAuliffe of Hopkington, NH and Elizabeth Pukorny of Bratislava, Slovakia. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held from the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., (www.tighehamilton.com) 50 Central St, Hudson, MA 01749 Saturday, July 8, 2006 with a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Mount Benedict Center, 252 Still River Road, Still River, MA. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 7 in the funeral home. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St. Worcester, MA.
