John B. Blake, 64, of Hudson, MA, died Friday, September 28, 2007 at Marlborough Hospital in Marlborough, MA.
He was the loving husband of Anne M. (Bachalis) Blake for 31 years of Hudson, MA.
He was born in Somerville, MA, son of the late Burton and Catherine (Meehan) Blake.
He was a graduate of Burlington, H.S. and served in the U.S. Army. He was a former mechanic at Peter Fuller Cadillac of Boston and later owned and operated Blake's Automotive in Hudson, MA and Plantasia Limousine, also of Hudson. He was a member of the Massachusetts Car Dealers Assoc., and member of the Independent Auto Dealers Assoc.
He was an avid skier making frequent trips to the Loon Mt. and Wachusett Mt. ski areas and enjoyed playing golf, especially in the local tournaments and weekly Mulligan Golf League at the Marlborough Country Club. His favorite times were getting together with friends, especially the 8 Pack for card games. His family was his greatest joy and was always proud of them and their accomplishments.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Jessica Blake of Hudson, MA, Jennifer Williams and her husband Peter of Hudson, MA, John Blake Jr. of Medford, MA, and James M. Blake and his wife Lisa of West Roxbury. He is also survived by his sister, Gayle O'Callaghan and her husband John of Burlington, MA; his 4 grandchildren, Alexandra, Sydney, Connor and Kyle, and his extended family which included many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
He was the brother of the late Robert C. Blake.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church, 21 Manning street Hudson, MA. Family and friends may attend calling hours Tuesday, October 2, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. (www.tighehamilton.com) 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
