John F. Daniels, 75, of Framingham, formerly of Hudson, died Wednesday, June 20th surrounded by his loving family at the residence he shared with his companion Diane Hopkins. He is survived by his four children, Kathleen Hatfield of West Yarmouth, Mary Streecter and her husband Angel of Mesa, AZ, Patricia Hodge and her husband Stuart of Palm Coast, FL and Theresa Jerszyk and her husband Gary of Fitchburg. He is also survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Mary J. (McDermott) Daniels; his brother, Richard Daniels of Worcester; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Daniels.
John was born and raised in Worcester where he attended local schools. He later attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 after being honorably discharged. He was employed as a buyer and salesman for several local furniture companies including Boston Furniture until his retirement in 2000. He resided in Hudson for 54 plus years and spent time as a member of the Hudson Planning Board. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson and also ran and directed the "Thousand Club" at the Parish for many years. He was a member of the Hudson Lodge of Elks and was an avid card player.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 25th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial services will be held at the convenience of the family in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson at a later date. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 24th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
