John F. Hlystek-83, of Hudson, MA, died Friday, December 22, 2006, at Saint Vincent's Hospital in Worcester.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mary E. (Damon) Hlystek of Hudson.
Born in Holyoke, MA, he was the son of the late Frank and Anelia(Kornacki) Hlystek.
He was a graduate of the Wentworth Institute in Boston. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marines and worked for Star Market supermarkets in their warehouse.
He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife he is survived by his son; John J. Hlystek and his wife Nancy of Littleton, MA. He is also survived by his two sisters; Catherine Demski of Chicopee, Louise Wojtowicz of Amherst, MA and his two grandchildren; Hannah and Jenna Hlystek.
He was the brother of the late Sidonia Ironside.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning street Hudson, MA. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 26th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
