John G. Powers, 71, of Hudson, MA, died Saturday, April 29, 2006 at U-Mass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester, MA after being stricken ill at his home.
He is survived by his wife of fifty two years Zeta M. (Brack) Powers. He was born in Worcester, MA son of the late Joseph and Helen (Lyons) Powers. John was employed by Nuclear Metals Co. of Concord, MA for forty five years as a project manager until his retirement. He was a graduate of Saint Columbkille H.S. in Brighton, MA.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children William Powers of Boston, MA and Karen Tanner and her husband Keith of Grafton, MA. He is also survived by his sister Mary Dowd of Sarasota, FL and two brothers; James Powers of West Wareham and Kevin Powers of Middleboro. He leaves his caring brothers and sisters in law, many nieces and nephews and numerous loving friends.
His funeral will be held from the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home Inc, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749 Wednesday, May 3, 2006 with a funeral mass at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning street Hudson MA. Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 2 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
