Hudson, MA
John J. Kovacs, 73, of Hudson, died Sunday, March 18th at his residence. He leaves his children, John P. Kovacs and his wife Mary of Hudson, Christina Chaviano and her husband Pedro of Miami, FL and Debbie Kovacs of Sudbury.
John was born in Hungary, son of the late Joseph and Emma (Horvath) Kovacs. He was a self employed plumber for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Plumber's Union, Local 12 of Boston. John resided in Waltham for a short time after moving from Hungary and has resided in Hudson the past 45 years. He was an avid chess player and member of the Hudson Senior Center.
Besides his children, he is survived by his two sisters, Agota Seaver and Cecilia McFarland, both of Florida; his brother, Joseph Kovacs of Cape Cod and Florida; his 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may attend calling hours on Friday, March 23rd from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by a celebration of John's life at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
