Hudson, MA
John T. "Jack" Kuras, 88, of Hudson, died on Saturday, Aug. 6th at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. He was the beloved husband of M. Claire (Fenton) Kuras who died in 1996.
He was born in Central Falls, RI, son of the late Thomas and Mary (Pysz) Kuras. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army as a member of the 104th Infantry Timberwolves. He was awarded the Purple Heart from wounds he received as a result of enemy action in Germany on March 2, 1945.
Mr. Kuras was the owner and operator of K.B.M. Transportation Co. in Hudson for many years. He was a member of the V.F.W. Lodge in Hudson and long time Usher and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Kuras of Hudson, Donna Atkins of Hudson and his two grandchildren, Amanda Atkins of Boston and Courtney Atkins of Hudson.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 11th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
