John R. McKean

John R. McKean, 46, of Hudson, MA, passed away due to a tragic accident at his home on Monday, March 11, 2019.

John was born on August 17, 1972, in Aurora, Illinois. He was the beloved son of N. Janet Davenport and the late James J. McKean. John was raised in Marlborough, MA, and graduated from Marlborough High School (MHS) in 1990.  While at MHS, John played many sports and was a star trumpet player in the MHS band.  After graduating from MHS, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and honorably served his Nation from 1991 until 1996.

Throughout his life, John was a talented athlete and excelled at every sport he played, including baseball and soccer, and had a passion for snowboarding and BMX bike riding. John was also a gifted musician, who played several instruments, including the piano, guitar, and trumpet. In addition, he was a great cook and made the best stuffed mushrooms on earth. Most importantly, John had a big heart. He deeply cherished and adored his two daughters, Maia and Maeve, and loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews.

Among his many heartbroken survivors, John leaves his two daughters, Maia McKean and Maeve McKean, and their mother Jennifer Garofalo, all of Medway, MA; his mother, N. Janet Davenport of Hudson, MA; his eight siblings, Janice Pack, Joanna Poirier, Jodie Zindle, Jackie McKean-Linskey, Jaimie McKean, Jason McKean, Jerome McKean and Joshua McKean; his nieces and nephews, Dustin, Jacy, Janelle, Abigail, Grace, Faith, Joey, Reid, Cameron, Ashlee, Breana, Alicia, Destinie, Gabbi, Sarah, Noah, Chris, Caleb, Lucas, Kylie, Hunter and Remi; and his five grand-nieces and grand-nephews. John was predeceased by his father, James J. McKean and his nephew, Travis Zindle.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA 01749. A funeral service will be held the following day at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019, in the Funeral Home; followed by interment in Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough, MA.
