HUDSON - John B. Monteiro, 70, a long-time resident of Hudson, MA died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday morning, November 20, 2010. John was a devoted friend to many, caring brother, adored father and grandfather and a loving husband. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He was a dedicated employee of 49 years as the Facilities Manager at The Entwistle Company of Hudson, MA. Active member of St. Michael's Church and a long-time member of the Elks. His hobbies included playing with his grandchildren, claming and fishing on Cape Cod, home improvements and travel.
Son of the late Francisco P. Monteiro and Maria Braga Monteiro and brother Jose Monteiro.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Maria I (Carvalho) Monteiro of Hudson, MA, his 3 children Linda Monteiro-Hopper of Westport, CT and Mark and Paul Monteiro of Hudson, MA, his six grandchildren; Cassia (12), Michael (10), Alex (1), Juliana (10), John Paul (4) and Matthew (2), his sister Maria L. Monteiro of Hudson MA and his brother, Antonio Monteiro of Worcester MA.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 24th at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson.
