John B. Parent

John B. Parent, 55, of Hudson, MA, passed away unexpectedly at home, on Tuesday, January, 31, 2023.

John was born in Providence, RI, on November 12, 1967, a son of John Michael Parent and Ellen Joyce (Fredette) Amato. He was raised in Holden, MA and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in the class of 1985. After high school John moved to California, living  there for several years, before returning to Hudson, MA, where he has resided for the past 25 years. He worked in construction for many years and owned and operated his own General Contracting Company.

John was a very social person and enjoyed many activities. He played several sports growing up including high school football. He also enjoyed skiing, and playing pool with his friends. John loved music and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing karaoke. He was a sports car enthusiast and his corvette was one of his most prized possessions. He could be a bit mischievous at times, but he was also the first one to stop to offer help to anyone in need. John was a caring person and also loved animals and nature. He enjoyed sitting on his deck and watching the bats buzz by on a summer night and the birds soaring in the sky. Most of all he had a special affinity for owls and had many pictures of them throughout his home.

John is survived by his 4 children, Johnathon J. Parent, Heather Parent, Lauren R. Parent and Jade E. Parent; his mother, Ellen J. Amato and his Stepfather Larry Amato; his father, John M. Parent and his stepmother, Florence Parent; three sisters, Nicole, Amy and Lisa; a granddaughter, Nova Kaai and his close friends, Kris Jaillet, Tony Melo and Mark Saari.

Services will be private at a later date. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with his arrangements.
