John E. "Jack" Prinsteiner, 69, of Hudson and Wells Beach, Maine, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Feb. 5th at his home in Hudson. He is survived by his longtime companion, Anne McPartlen of Hudson and Anne's children and grandchildren with whom Jack was a loving father and grandfather figure to for many years, Erin McPartlen Bratica and her children Jailyn and Jayson Bratica all of Hudson and John B. McPartlen and his children Madison and John McPartlen all of Hudson. He is also survived by his sister, Penny (Prinsteiner) McGee and her husband William of Arlington, Texas and his many cousins and friends. He was the brother of the late Joanna and Richard Prinsteiner.
Jack was born and raised in New Britain, CT, son of the late John and Madeline (Brosseau) Prinsteiner. He moved to Wayland in his early teens where he attended local schools and was a 1962 graduate of Wayland High School. He received his degree in Culinary Arts in 1964 from the Culinary Institute of New Haven, CT. In the late 60's Jack began his long career in the restaurant business in Hudson as a Chef for the former Helen's Restaurant in Hudson. He was a member of Helen's Restaurant staff until 1983 at which time he purchased Pierozzi's Restaurant on Broad Street in Hudson. Jack spent 14 wonderful years from 1983 to 1997 as the owner and operator of Prinsteiner's Restaurant on Broad Street. He was proud to bring many changes and renovations throughout the years to the popular restaurant and his passion as a chef was well appreciated by all who visited his restaurant. In 1997, Jack sold his restaurant to the Scioletti's Restaurant Chain and retired to spend more time in Wells Beach and playing golf. He was a Life Member of the Hudson Lodge of Elks and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 8st at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Friday, Feb. 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
