John "Jack" Ryan

John “Jack” P. Ryan, Sr. 74, of Hudson, MA passed away Wednesday February 28th after battling a long illness.

Jack leaves behind his wife, best friend and soulmate of fourty three years, Kathleen (Cardoza) Ryan; his daughter Laura E. Zouharis and her husband Demetrious of Marlborough; his grand son John and grand daughter Mary, his son John Ryan Jr and his wife Jackie of Hudson; his grandson Cody and granddaughter Hailey; and daughter Megan Kasaras and her husband Jeff of Hudson; his grand daughter Madi. Jack also leaves a large extended family. He is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Elizabeth R. (Lawson) Ryan, brothers Thomas Jr, Robert and James Ryan.

Jack was born in Marlborough May 23,1943 and graduated from Marlborough High in 1961. Right after graduation he enlisted in the US Army and was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany, Alpha Battery where he worked as a Radar Specialist. After his time in the Army he was appointed to the Marlborough Fire Department in May 1972 and served the city for 34 years on shift 4 driving the ladder truck. He also worked part time at the Fire Academy in Stow until retiring in December 2017.

Jack was the best father who took so much pride in his children and grand children. He loved to go see the grandkids activities. He was a true outdoorsman and he loved fishing and hunting. He also was a true Bruins and Patriots fan, even when they were losing. Jack also loved vacationing in Maine and Cape Cod, we have so many happy memories of those times.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
