Jose A. Luna

Jose A. Luna, 89, of Hudson, MA, passed on Thursday, August 8, 2024. He was the beloved husband of over 33 years to Edevita Luna, also of Hudson, MA.

Jose was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico, on May 6, 1935, to his late parents Jesus Mateo Luna and Casimira (Rodriguez) Luna. Jose and his family moved to Hudson, MA, at age 16, and has lived there since then, until the time of his passing. Upon moving to Hudson, MA, Jose began a long career in the agricultural industry as an employee at Cavicchio Green Houses in Sudbury, MA. He later became their General Manager, a position he filled until his retirement at 82 years old.

Jose leaves his loving wife Edevita Luna of Hudson, MA and his children, step-children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren  and four siblings.

 Jose is predeceased by his parents Jesus Mateo Luna and Casimira (Rodriguez) Luna and his six siblings. 

Jose was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed fishing in local lakes and ponds, and would also occasionally go ocean fishing in Rhode Island with his children and grandchildren.  Jose loved to cook, and he was extremely well known for his prized pork roast. He shared that dish with everyone at his house at an annual gathering of family and friends that would host 200-300 people. Additionally, his yard and his gardens were very special to him, and he took pride in maintaining them. He always looked forward to trips to visit his family. He especially loved his annual special trips with his wife, Edevita.

Calling Hours for Jose will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 4pm-7pm, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, August 17. 2024, at 10:30am, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery, 278 Cox Street, Hudson, MA, for Committal Services.
