Jose R. Chaves, 58, of Hudson, died Wednesday, March 31st at his home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 37 years, Deolinda (Chaves) Chaves of Hudson.
Jose was born in Santa Maria, The Azores of Portugal, son of the late Antonio Chaves and survived by his mother, Maria R. (Braga) Chaves of Hudson. He worked for many years as a concrete finisher for various companies. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his two children, Nelia Braga of Clinton, Angelo Chaves of Hudson; his two brothers, Angelo and Antonio Chaves, both of Hudson; his four sisters, Maria Wickstrom of Tampa, Fla, Zaira Loura, Zelia Aponte and Theresa Bigley, all of Hudson. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Rochelle, Zachary and Dakota Braga and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday April 5th at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 4th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
