Jose S. Moreira-88, of Hudson, MA died Saturday, January 5, 2008 at his residence in Hudson.
He was the husband of the late Ines B. (Braga) Moreira who died in 2004.
He was born in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria the Azores, Portugal, son of the late Antonio and Bernardina (Paiva) Moreira.
He was employed by the former Digital Equipment Co. in Maynard for many years before retiring. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
He is survived by his 3 sons, Daniel P. Moreira and Antonio P. Moreira, both of Hudson, Jose P. Moreira of Littleton; his 3 daughters, Lucy M. Hutton, Mary B. Lage and Genevieve M. Chaves, all of Hudson. He is also survived by his brother Joao Moreira of Canada; his 3 sisters, Maria Reis, Conceicao Freitas and Beatriz Bairos, all of Canada; 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was a brother to the late Emilia Fontes who died in Hudson on Friday Jan. 4, 2008.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will be in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
