Joseph J. Braga, 82, a long time resident of Hudson, currently residing in The Villages, Florida, died on Jan. 4th at Cornerstone Hospice Home in The Villages, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose Marie (Renaud) Braga of The Villages in Florida, formerly of Hudson.
Joseph was born and raised in Hudson, son of the late Joseph J. and Nancy F. (Franklin) Braga. He attended local schools and was employed as a machinist for many years with several local companies until his retirement. He was a member of the Massachusetts National Guard. He resided in Hudson for 75 years before moving to the Villages in Florida.
Joseph was a devoted husband and father and cherished the times he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed all the gatherings with family and friends, especially the many cookouts he hosted. He enjoyed golf and carving in his spare time. He loved his frequent visits to Frye Island, Maine.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Joseph J. Braga and his wife Jody L. (Martin) of The Villages, Florida; his grandsons, Justin J. Braga of Florida, Jonathan E. Braga of Florida; his great grandchildren, Ryen T. and Natalee J. Braga and his many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard and Robert Braga and missed them dearly.
Family and friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, May 11th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com) followed by a celebration of Joseph's Life at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 11th at the funeral home. Burial services will immediately follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
