Joseph E. Ciampi, 76, of Hudson, formerly of Shrewsbury and Concord, died Sunday, Sept. 19th at his residence in Hudson surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 46 years, Susan D. (Jacobs) Ciampi of Hudson.
Born and raised in Somerville and Medford, son of the late Anthony J. and Rose M. (Lusardi) Ciampi, Joseph was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1951. He later attended Bentley University of Waltham and Wentworth University of Boston. He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1962. Joseph was employed as an Experimental Machinist in research at Harvard University in Cambridge for 37 years until his retirement in 1998. He was an avid golfer and looked forward to the weekly Monday night poker game at the club house where he resided.
Besides his wife Susan, Joseph is survived by his son, Douglas Ciampi Sr. and his wife Diane of Westminster and his two grandchildren, Madalyn and Douglas Jr. He also leaves the many friends he loved.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 22nd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
