Joseph E. Garcia Sr., 88, of Hudson, died April 7th in Florida. He is survived by his son, Joseph Garcia Jr. and his wife Denise of Mashpee; his two grandchildren, Michael Garcia of Ashland and Christine Comfort of Upton; his five great grandchildren, Lauren, Erika and Shayla Comfort of Upton and Chase and Avery Garcia of Ashland. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Joseph was born in Hudson, son of the late Jesse and Evelyn (Morin) Garcia. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army and worked for many years at the former Instress Co. in Hudson He also worked for the Commonwealth Gas Company. He was a member of the D.A.V. Marlboro Chapter 82 and member of the Hudson Elks.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 22nd at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 21st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. (www.tighehamilton.com)
