Joseph A. Magnant, 90, of Marlborough, formally of Hudson, MA died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the Bolton Manor and Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marlborough.
He was the husband of the late Mabel (Glass) Magnant who died in 1994.
Born in New Bedford, MA, he was the son of the late Henry A. and Clarisse (Labbe) Magnant.
He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1940. His occupation as a machinist during WWII contributed greatly to the war effort. He later was employed by the former Harris Siebold Co. of Boston as a press installer until 1976 and was later employed by the Poloroid Corp. until he retired in 1980.
He is survived by his children, Patricia Hallenbeck of Marietta, GA, Marilyn Morin and her husband Richard of Hudson, MA and Robert Magnant of Melbourne, FL. He is also survived by his brother, Maurice Magnant and his wife Janet of New Bedford, MA, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late Jean Tetreault, Medora Galland and Irene Prudhomme.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Good Shepard Chapel at New Horizons-Madonna Hall, 400 Hemenway Street, Marlborough. Family and friends may attend calling hours Tuesday, July 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will take place at Northumberland Memorial Park in Sunbury, PA at a later date.
