Hudson, MA Joseph J. Ramalho, Sr., 92, of Hudson, died on Saturday, April 2nd at Marlboro Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary V. (Renaud) Ramalho in 1994.
Born in Portugal, son of the late Joaquim and Palmeira (Rocha) Ramalho, Joseph attended local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years as a machinist for several local machine shops including LaPointe's Machine Shop of Hudson and McCellen Machine Co. until his retirement. He was a member of The Hudson V.F.W., Hudson Amvets, Hudson Eagle's and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
He is survived by his children, Judi Yost and her husband Robert of Hudson, Pauline Elhilow and her husband John of Holliston, Sandra Yellick of Northboro, Joseph J. Ramalho Jr. and his wife Leslie of Florida, Michael Ramalho of Worcester and Robert Ramalho and his wife Deborah of Hudson. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John and Anthony Ramalho and Mary Boudreau.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 6th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 5th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
