Joseph F. Taranto, 64, of Bolton, died Thursday, March 20 at UMass Memorial Hospital, Belmont St. in Worcester.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Juliana (Buonagurio) Taranto of Bolton.
Born and raised in Waltham, son of the late Alice (Vellante) Taranto and survived by his father, James Taranto of Watertown, he attended local schools and was a 1961 graduate of St. Mary?s H.S. in Waltham. He has resided in Bolton since 1979 and prior to that resided in Tewksbury and Waltham.
Mr. Taranto was the owner and operator of Photo Express/Studio 23 Inc. of Marlboro, a photo finishing and portrait studio, which he operated the past 21 years, closing the store March 1, 2008. He previously owned and operated Hudson Wallpaper & Paint for 13 years. Mr. Taranto was an avid golfer and member of the Marlboro Country Club where he enjoyed gathering with his many friends at the club during his leisure time. "Joey T" was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly
missed by all.
Besides his wife and father, he leaves his children, Todd Taranto and wife Stefanie of Wheaton, IL, Christopher Taranto and wife Mary of Macungie, PA, Adam Taranto and wife Julia of Hamden, CT, Jennifer Bernat and husband William of Framingham and Elizabeth Taranto of Bolton. He also leaves his two sisters, Jacqueline Lampasona of Waltham, Sister Sarah Taranto of North Guilford, CT; his six grandchildren, Noah, Isabel, Ryan, Kathleen and Sophia Taranto and Anna
Bernat; his step-mother, Adelina Taranto of Watertown; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 25, at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St. Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Luke's Cemetery, Westboro. Calling hours will be held Monday, March 24 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
