Joy H. (Clinch) Gorey, 81, of Hudson, died Friday, June 20 after a long illness.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Herbert I. Gorey of Hudson.
Mrs. Gorey was born and raised in England, daughter of the late George H. and Harriet R. (Frost) Clinch. During WWII she was a student nurse and met her husband Herbert in England. They were married shortly thereafter in Aug. of 1945. She moved to the states with her husband after the war and began to raise her family in Northboro, Lancaster and finally residing in Hudson from 1965 until her passing. Besides caring for her family, she was an accomplished homemaker. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and baking for her family and friends. Besides her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Robert of Andover, Christopher of Nova Scotia and David of Rutland. She is also survived by her brother David, sisters June, Joey, Jean and Jackie; grandchildren Scott, Jonathan, Philip, Michael, and Shannon; great grandchildren Alden and Skyler along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 28, at 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend a calling hour Saturday, June 28 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
