Juliet Cabral Quinn

September 5, 1922 — June 28, 2018

Hudson

Juliet Cabral Quinn, age 95, died peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northborough, MA.  Born in Hudson, MA on September 5, 1922 and a life long resident of the town, Juliet was the daughter of the late Jose T. and Mercedes Cabral.  She was also predeceased by her two siblings; her sister Ernestine “Ernie” Teixeira and her brother Alfred “Al” Cabral.

Juliet, or “Julie” as she was known to her close friends, attended Hudson schools and graduated from Hudson High School with the class of 1940.  After graduation she earned a degree from the Framingham School of Business.  Later on she married her high school sweetheart and 1940 classmate David J. Quinn Sr. who passed away in December of 2011.  They were married for 65 years and raised two sons.

Before her retirement in 1985, Juliet was a waitress at Hudson’s Lisbon Club restaurant owned and operated by her parents.  She was also a bookkeeper for the Lapointe Machine and Tool Company, the Hudson National Bank, and the Lance Corporation, all of Hudson, MA.  In her free time she was most happy caring for her cats, watching her soap operas, or tackling a difficult crossword puzzle.  She was also a very frequent visitor to many New England ice arenas where she would watch her husband and two sons play hockey.  Throughout her long life she thoroughly enjoyed family gatherings, particularly holidays and birthdays with her extended family who loved her warm, caring, and witty personality.  Dining out with family and friends, particularly the daily breakfast with “Big Dave”, was also a treasured event in Juliet’s life.

Juliet is survived by her two sons: James Quinn of Hudson, and David Quinn Jr. and his wife Pat of Petersham, MA, and her two grandsons: Connor and Camron Quinn.  She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews: Linda Teixeira, John Teixeira, and Paul Cabral of Hudson, Kathi Cabral of Colorado Springs, CO, and Joe Cabral of New Boston, NH, who all knew her as “Aunt Jay”.  She will also be missed by Ines Cabral and Barbara Walsh, both of Hudson, two devoted friends who brought sunshine into Juliet’s life.

A private service celebrating Juliet’s life will be held on the morning of Sunday, July 1 followed by a graveside blessing at the Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson.
