Hudson, MA
Katharine F. (Dearborn) Manter, 94, of Hudson, died on Thursday, Feb. 19th at the Beaumont Reahabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northboro. She was the beloved wife of George D. Manter who died in 2002.
She was born in Haverhill, daughter of the late Leroy and Mary (Whipp) Dearborn and resided in Hudson most of her life. She was a graduate of New Market H.S., class of 1932. Katharine worked as a telephone operator for many years and was a volunteer for the Red Cross. She was a member of the Daughter's of American Republic in Concord, MA, Eastern Star of Maynard, MA, Oceanside Grange in New Hamphshire, Past Matron, Corinthian Chapter in Hudson, MA and Grand Representative to Alberta, Canada for the Eastern Lodge of Mass. She was a former member of the Hudson Women's Club and former member of the P.T.A. She was a longtime member of the Federated Church in Hudson, MA.
She is survived by her three sons, Alan Manter of Hudson, MA, Frank Manter of Exeter, NH and David Manter of Fayette, ME. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bryan, Ian and Darren..
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21st from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749. A graveside service will be held on Monday, Feb. 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Greeenland, NH.
