Kenneth E. Gilchrist

Kenneth E. Gilchrist, 66, of Hudson, Ma, passed away, peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Marlborough Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He leaves his devoted wife, Sandra A. (DeLano) Gilchrist.

Ken is also survived by his son, Brendon E. Gilchrist and his wife Jaclyn of Berlin; four siblings, Paula Caligiuri, Kevin Gilchrist, Mary Ellen DeAngelis and Catherine “Katie” Gilchrist; his grandson Caleb J. Gilchrist and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Mary (Mansell) Gilchrist and his sister, Patricia Dirrane.

Ken was born on April 1, 1952, in Cambridge, Ma. He was raised in Watertown and graduated from Saint Patrick School in Watertown.  Shortly after graduating Ken married his beloved Sandy and together, they settled in Hudson, where they have resided since 1983. Ken had a long and successful career at Verizon as an equipment installer, retiring after 33 years of dedicated service.

Ken was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed fishing and golfing. Ken was also a volunteer with the Berlin Fire and EMS. Mostly he preferred spending time with his family and especially enjoyed watching his son playing sports through the years; never missing a single football game or track meet in high school. His love of family grew with the addition of his grandson Caleb, whom he cherished. Ken was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and he will be dearly missed by those that knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours from 3 pm until 6 pm on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA. A celebration of life will be held at 10 am on Monday, December 10, 2018, in the church at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson.
