Larry White

Larry White, 89, a lifelong resident of Hudson, MA, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Larry was born in Marlborough, MA, on August 19, 1935, to his late parents Valmore White and Marion (LaBrache) White. He attended local schools and graduated from Hudson High School. He later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Larry began his long career in nursing in 1965 caring for patients at the Mass Eye & Ear Hospital in Boston, MA. He spent 50 plus years as a Registered Nurse until he retired. He was a member of the Eagle Scouts in his youth and member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.

Larry leaves his sisters, Peggy Manzo, Squeezle Saragian and Patty Bushey. He was predeceased by his sister Arline Reed and brothers Valmore, Norman, William and Kenneth White. He also leaves his many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Larry enjoyed many things in his life which included gardening, landscape and yard designing, woodworking and was an exceptional interior designer. He also enjoyed the beauties of nature, hiking and bird watching being his favorite. He was most appreciative of his weekend trips to New England’s ocean beaches. The Beach Comber in Wellfleet, Cape Cod and Hampton Beach New Hampshire were two of his favorites. He also enjoyed visiting the many New England Light Houses, taking in their majestic design and beauty. Traveling was another favorite pastime for Larry. He visited Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, Dominican Republic, Germany, France and England. He also traveled throughout the United States, New York and Alaska to mention a couple destinations along with trips to Canada. 

Larry spent his life caring for others. Photography and art were two crafts he loved sharing with family and friends. In his younger years he spent much of his spare time body building and practicing gymnastics. He will be remembered for his care of others and his bandana or cap to cover his “bald head” by all who loved and knew him. 

A graveside service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 16, 2024 in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson, MA. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA is honored to be assisting Larry’s family with arrangements. There are no services at the funeral home.
