Leal A. Luz-84, of Pinellas Park, FL, formally of Hudson, MA, died Friday, November 17, 2006, at his residence in Florida.

He was the husband of the late Maria C. (Chaves) Luz who died in 2002.

Born in Gracioza, the Azores, he was the son of the late Joaquim R. and Maria E. (Silva) Luz.

He resided in Hudson most of his life and moved to Pinellas Park, FL after the passing of his beloved wife in 2002.

He was employed by the former Arrow Automotive Co. in Hudson for twenty years and also worked for the Hudson Lock Co. for five years until he retired in 1995.

Before moving to the United States in 1963, he worked as a fisherman in Santa Maria, the Azores. He loved his family and enjoyed the special outings and family gatherings while living in Hudson. He spent many hours watching soccer matches in Florida and enjoyed listening to Portuguese music. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.

He is survived by his three daughters; Fatima Fraga and her husband Rosalino of Milford, MA, Maria Coston and her husband James of Hudson, MA, Ida Carey of Florida, four sisters; Joana Medeiros of Hudson, Ondina Costa of Clinton, Georgina Christopher of Florida and Maria Emilia Da Luz of Portugal. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren; Lee and Stephen Frias, Neuza Rossi, Joe, John, Michael, Nelson, Suzie and Linda Zompetti, Melinda, Junior and Domingos Fraga, twenty four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jose Dos Santos.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning street Hudson, MA. Calling hours will be held Monday, November 20, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
