Leander (“Lee”) Albert Anderson was born on August 7, 1951 to Albert Calvin and Lillian (Morin) Anderson in Hartford, CT. The family then moved back to Caribou, Maine, where they were from originally, to engage in potato farming. Lee attended Woodland Elementary School in Woodland, Maine. At the age of 11, the family moved to Bristol, CT, to work in a family-owned business, Morin Erection and Building Products. Lee graduated from Bristol Eastern High School in 1970, and went on to Hartford State Tech to complete an Associate’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.
After graduation, he worked for Morin Erection as an iron worker, traveling all over the country. In January 1977, he was installing siding on a power plant on the Missouri River. It was in the town of Rock Port, MO, where he met his future wife, Kathryn (Parks) Anderson, who was an elementary school music teacher in Rock Port. When school was out that year, they were married on May 31, 1977, and they moved back to Bristol, CT. They raised their two daughters, Lindsay and Kirsten, while living in Bristol.
Lee and his family lived in Bristol, CT, until April 2015, when they moved to Hudson, MA, in order to be near their grandchildren. While living in Hudson, they joined the First Baptist Church in Marlborough, MA. Lee’s greatest pleasure was helping procure and supervise the painting company that painted the historic and beautiful St. Anne style church on the outside and inside, along with many other renovations.
Lee passed away peacefully, into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, at home on July 12, 2024, with his loving family at his side.
Lee is survived by his wife Kathy (Parks) Anderson; his two daughters Lindsay Guerriere and her husband Michael of Needham, MA, and Kirsten Gilbert and her husband Nathan of Waltham, MA. Lee was a loving grandfather to his six grandchildren Nico, Anthony, and Grace Guerriere, and Teddy, Leland, and Jack Gilbert. He is also survived by his brother Mark Anderson of Bristol, CT; his sister Laurie Cote and her husband Richard of Concord, VT; his brother-in-law Randy Parks and his wife Carol of Independence, MO; his sisters-in-law Linda Parks of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Lori Critten and her husband Robert of Oak Grove, MO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
