Lenora (Stanunius) Petkevich, 93, of Plantation, Florida, formerly of Hudson, died Saturday, May 29th at ManorCare Health Services in Plantation, Florida. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Joseph C. Petkevich who died in 2003.
Born and raised in Marlboro, daughter of the late Anthony and Anastasia Stanunius, Lenora was a graduate of Marlboro High School, class of 1934 and moved to Hudson following her marriage to her husband Joseph. She spent many years as a homemaker, raising her children in Hudson and enjoyed Scandinavian ball room dancing with her husband. Lenora loved flowers and was an avid gardener. She looked forward to the several cruises she and her husband took along with the senior group of the former Hudson Savings Bank, now Avidia Bank and was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Lenora is survived by her children, Charles Petkevich the 1st of Plantation, Florida, Ruth Buck and her husband Dewey of Marlboro, and Thomas Petkevich of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She was predeceased by her daughter Ann Petkevich at age six. She is also survived by her brother, Alexander Stanunius of Tyngsboro; her 9 grandchildren and her 10 great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 3rd at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, June 3rd from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. at the: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 prior to the mass.
