Leo J. Lavigne, 79, of Hudson, died on Thursday, March 24th at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester. He was the loving husband of 57 years to the late Frances K. (Kinzie) Lavigne.
Leo was born and raised in Manchester, NH, son of the late Alfred and Simone (Gamache) Lavigne. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Veteran of the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged in 1962. Leo was employed by the U.S. Government in the Department of Defense as Chief of Operations, working out of the Boston Office on Sumner Street. He was a life member of the Hudson Amvet's and life member of the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans). He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Leo had many interests throughout his life but cherished spending time with his family. He always looked forward to the many pool parties at his home in Hudson, especially barbequing for all his family and friends. He was dedicated to his country, his community and to his family and friends. He will truly be missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his children, Al and Lorraine of Hudson, John of Hudson, Debbie and Rick of Holliston and Margaret and Mark of Hudson. He is also survived by his two sisters, Pauline Godfrey of New Hampshire, Irene Levesque of Florida; his 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 29th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Monday, March 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
