Linda (Tokarz) Burke

Linda (Tokarz) Burke, 72, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday October 6, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of James M. Burke, Sr. for fifty-one years.

Linda was one of nine children born and raised in Clinton, MA, daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Poliwarczyk) Tokarz.

Linda is survived by her husband James M. Burke, Sr. of Hudson, MA; son James M. Burke, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Mooresville, NC; daughter Jennifer (Burke) Spellman and her husband Raymond of Hudson, MA; son in law Neil Hathaway of Attleboro, MA; and her seven grandchildren Kayla, Cassidy, Calli, Tommy, Krista, Alyson and James; as well as other family and friends. She is predeceased by her late parents Francis and Helen, and her daughter Melissa (Burke) Hathaway of Attleboro, MA; her sister Irene Greer; and her brother John “Pete” Tokarz.

Linda was a devout Catholic. She was a parishioner at Saint Michael Parish in Hudson, MA. She studied data processing while in college, and worked at Shaws Supermarket for twenty-five years before retiring.

Linda loved to stay active, with a love of walking her dog Remy; cuddling with her cat Bella and a fondness for watching birds. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, traveling with her family, but above all she really enjoyed spending time with her seven grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday October 20, 2023, from 4pm-7pm at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday October 21, 2023, at 11am at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to St. John’s Cemetery, Parker Road, Lancaster, MA.
