Louis R. Normandin

Louis R. Normandin, 76, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 with his family by his side.  He was predeceased by his wife of 15 years, Adele T. (Ogar) Normandin in 1995.  He is survived by his sons: David LaFlamme and his wife Wendy(Durkin) LaFlamme of Shrewsbury, Christopher LaFlamme and his wife Michelle of Hudson, Brian LaFlamme and his wife Amy of Worcester; his daughter, Holly (LaFlamme) Safranski of Berlin; his grandchildren: Paige LaFlamme and her fiance Mike Ricciotti of N. Providence, RI, Brooke LaFlamme and her boyfriend Liam Haly of Worcester, Christopher LaFlamme of Hudson, Hailey LaFlamme of Hudson, Jordyn Safranski of Hudson and Jessica Safranski of Hudson and 1 great-granddaughter Aria Ricciotti. He also leaves step-grandchildren Danielle Durkin, Sean Durkin, Cullen Durkin, Casey (Durkin) Vroom and husband Mike along with their children Brooklynn and Karleigh. He leaves his longtime companion, Donna Marsh of Hudson and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was predeceased by his brothers: Armand Normandin, Roger Normandin and sister Inez McQuaid.

Louis was born and raised in Stow the son of the late Ulric E. and Beatrice L. (Provencher) Normandin.  He graduated Stow High School before enlisting in the United State Marine Corps in 1964 serving his country as a guard for the 36th President of the United States, Lyndon B. Johnson, where he was stationed at the White House and at Camp David.  In 1968 he went to Vietnam and was Honorably Discharged in 1970.  Louis worked for Metal Goods in Marlborough for many years until his retirement in 2006 On November 28, 1980 he and Adele got married in Berlin.  He was a life member of the VFW Post 1027 in Hudson. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, riding his motorcycle and traveling with Adele before she passed, his favorite trip being to Italy. He also enjoyed traveling with Donna to Bermuda and several other destinations. Most of all Louis loved visiting his grandkids or as he would say my grand babies and his great-grand baby along with spending time with his family.

All are invited to attend a Celebration of Louis’ Life on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 11am in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson, MA 01749.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215.
