Manuel Cabral, 89, of Hudson, died Monday, Aug. 15th at Marlboro Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Filomena (Chaves) Cabral of Hudson.
Born and raised in Santa Maria, the Azores in Portugal, son of the late Jose and Maria (Santos) Cabral. He served in the Portuguese National Army. He was a long time resident of Hudson and was employed by the S&F Concrete Co. in Hudson for many years until retiring in 1987. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Maria Griffin and her husband Paul of Framingham, Jose Cabral, husband of the late Leonor Cabral of Hudson, Genoveva Garcia and her husband Carlos of Hudson, Luis Cabral of Hudson and Zelia Chaves and her husband Paulo of Hudson. He is also survived by his brother, Jose Cabral of Hudson; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Antonio Cabral in 1987 and sister, Maria Santos in 2001.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 19th at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Aug. 18th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
