Manuel A. Loura, 82, of Hudson, died on Wednesday, Oct. 28th at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 60 years to Deolinda (Braga) Loura of Hudson.
He was born in Santa Maria, the Azores and resided there until 1967. He has resided in Hudson the past 42 years. He was employed as a machine operator for the former Koro Corp. in Hudson from 1967 to 1992. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson. Manuel enjoyed traveling yearly to Santa Maria with his wife and to Canada to visit his daughter. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at his home in Hudson.
He is survived by his children, Tony Loura and his wife Almerinda of Hudson, Armenia Camara and her husband Angelo of Canada, John Loura and his wife Maria of Hudson and Fatima Monteiro and her husband Tony of Hudson. He is also survived by his sister, Conceicao Silva Loura of Madeira, Portugal; his brother, Agostinho Silva Loura of the Azores; his twelve grandchildren, Christine Correia, Michelle Andrade, Lisa, Jeff and Marcie Camara, Mark and Derek Loura, Scotty and Lindsay Monteiro, Randy, Ryan and Shaun Costa; five Great Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the father of the late Jose Loura who died in 2000 and the late Marylou Costa who died in 1994.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct. 31st at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Oct. 30th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
