Manuel F. Paz, 62, of Hudson, died on Saturday, Dec. 21st at his residence after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Maria G. (Batista) Hinchey-Paz of Hudson.
Manuel was born and raised in St. Michael, The Azores of Portugal, son of the late Manuel S. and Maria (Duarte) Paz. He emigrated from Portugal to the United States in 1994 and has spent the past 12 years residing in Hudson. He was most recently employed by the Gillette Co. at Fort Devens and prior to that was employed by A.C.T. Manufacturing Co. in Hudson. He enjoyed painting and also looked forward to traveling in his spare time. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Ruben Barata Paz of Clinton, Dario Barata Paz of Fall River; his two sisters, Ines Madeiros of Clinton, Urania Silva of Portugal; his three brothers, Jose Paz of Fall River, Fernando Paz of Fall River and Eduardo Paz of Hudson. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Ian, Kathryn and Bethany Gould of Marlboro; his step-children and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 23rd at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Sunday, Dec. 22nd from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
