Manuel F. Santos, 83, of Hudson, died on Saturday, November 14th at Marlboro Hospital. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Isaura F. (Figueiredo) Santos of Hudson.
Manuel was born in Santa Maria, the Azores, son of the late Manuel J. and Maria da Gloria (Freitas) Santos and has resided in Hudson the past 32 years. He was employed as a custodian at Hudson High School for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Antonio Manuel Santos of Hudson; his six daughters, Maria Berta Melo of Ontario, Canada, Lidia Costa of Santa Maria, the Azores, Margarida Moura of Hudson, Lucia Kinz of Marlboro, Rita Janeiro of Hudson and Martinha Santos of Hudson. He is also survived by his brother, Antonio Santos of Hudson; his sister, Irene Chaves of Santa Maria, the Azores; his 12 grandchildren, Mark, Michelle, Carla, Vanda, Timothy, Nathan, Carlos, Kyle, Nicole, Sydney, Katia, Jason and his great grandson Isaac. He was the father of the late Lidia Santos who died as an infant.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 18th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
