Margaret (Osgood) Moore, 86, of Hudson, died unexpectedly at her home on Thursday May 5th. She was the beloved wife of 64 years to the late Calvin W. Moore Sr. who died in 2011.
Margaret was born in Old Town, Maine, daughter of the late Harold and Veniene (Grant) Osgood. As a young girl, she resided in Monhegan Island and eventually moved to Vanceboro, Maine prior to moving to Hudson in 1957. Margaret was a choir member, taught Sunday School for 21 years and served as Superintendent for 12 of those years at the First Methodist Church. She also taught Vacation Bible School. Margaret became a long time member of Wayside Evangelical Church where she was the organist for 10 years. She was employed for many years by the Syntest Corporation in Marlboro.
Margaret had many interests in her life but her passion was her family. She took great pride in raising her family and caring for their home with her husband Calvin. She enjoyed spending time as a Boy Scout Den Mother and was also a Girl Scout Leader. In her spare time she looked forward to gardening, knitting and reading. She was an inspiration to those who loved and knew her and will be truly missed.
She is survived by her children, Paul E. Moore of Lewiston, ME, Sheila V. Fowler and her husband David of Needham, MA, Beth S. Salois and her husband Stephen of Winthrop, ME, Marvin D. Moore and his wife Cathy of Hubbardston, MA and Calvin W. Moore Jr. and his wife Beverly of Avon, CT. She was predeceased by her son, Randy G. Moore in 1997. She is also survived by her two sisters, Ellen Brennan of Canada, Kathleen McRae and her husband Paul of North Carolina; her 13 loving grandchildren; 9 adoring great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Harold, Donald, Fred and Eugene Osgood and grandmother of the late Kerri Lee.
Family and friends are encouraged to attend a graveside service to be held on Friday, May 13th at 11:00 a.m. in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
