Hudson, MA
Margaret A. (Silva) Taylor-89, of Hudson, MA died Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Hearthstone at New Horizon Nursing Home in Marlborough.
She was the wife of the late Melvin G. Taylor who died in May of 2001.
Born in Hudson, MA, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Marshall) Silva.
Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of the former Saint Michael's Academy in Hudson. She worked for LaPointe Machine Co. of Hudson during WWII and later was employed by the former Thomas Taylor & Sons of Hudson as a customer service representative for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of the former Christ King Parish and Christ King Sodality in Hudson, a member and past president of the Hudson V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary where she and her husband founded the "Thanksgiving Dinner for the homeless", Hudson Emblem Club and former member of the Hudson Women's Club. She was a volunteer at the Hudson Food Pantry and enjoyed traveling and dancing with her late husband.
She leaves her son, Ronald Taylor of Shrewsbury, MA; her 3 sisters, Rita O'Neil and her husband Dave of Hudson, MA, Rose Linstrom of Hudson, MA, Elizabeth Linstrom of Bedford, MA and her brother, Charles Silva of Florida.
She also leaves 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
She was sister to the late, Anthony, Joseph, Mariano, Manuel and John Silva and the late Mary A. Green.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning Street Hudson MA.. Family and friends may attend calling hours Friday, Dec. 14, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
