Marguerite "Ann" (Shovelier) Hoyt, 82, of Hudson, died on Wednesday, Dec. 17th at The Reservoir Center in Marlborough. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to Victor A. Hoyt Jr. who died in 2011.
Ann was born in Brookline, daughter of the late Basil F. Shovelier Sr. and Marguerite Lillian Marie (Maher) Shovelier. She was raised in Belmont where she attended local schools and resided in Cambridge for a short time prior to moving to Hudson where she has spent the past 50 years. She worked a computer technician for many years with the Honeywell Company until her retirement. Ann was a member of the Hudson Eagles and Eastern Star and also was a long time member of the United Methodist Church in Hudson. Ann enjoyed knitting and sewing in her spare time. She looked forward to spending time with her family and especially with her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will truly be missed by all.
She is survived by her children, Ann Mae Yorston of Florida, Vicki Lee Sullivan of Marlboro, Debora Pelletier and her husband Ray of Hudson, Victor "Ken" Hoyt of Hudson, Kimberly Hoyt of Marlboro and Elizabeth Catherine Hoyt of Hudson. She is also survived by her brother, Basil F. Shovelier Jr. of Spokane, WA; her 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may attend a memorial service and celebration of Ann's life on Saturday, Jan. 10th at 2:00 p.m. in the Hudson Eagles Reception Hall, 271 Cox Street, Hudson, MA 01749. A private burial service will be held at a later date in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
