Marguerite M. (Morrison) Vierkant, 87, of Berlin, former long-time resident of Stow, died on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Northborough, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Vierkant who died in 2013.
Marguerite was born and raised in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Charles and Ivy (Carter) Morrison. She was raised in the Newton, Westwood and Needham communities and was a
graduate of Needham High School. She began her career as a Librarian with the Town of Stow and later took a position with the Digital Equipment Corp. as their Research Librarian at the company’s Maynard, MA location. She was an active member of the St. Isidore Parish in Stow, MA and later at the St. Joseph the Good Provider Parish in Berlin, MA.
Marguerite is survived by her six children, Robert K. Vierkant and his wife Hye Cha of North Carolina, Lauren Flores and her husband Pablo of Marlboro, MA, Valerie Tortora and her
husband Jay of Oxford, MA, Kurt Vierkant and his wife Linda of Stow, MA, James Vierkant and his wife Mellisa of Auburn, MA and Johanna Vierkant of Oxford, MA. She is also survived by her 17 loving grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; her brother, John Morrison, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Marguerite enjoyed daily walks and being outdoors in her younger years. She was an avid reader and in her spare time she liked gardening. She always looked forward to vacations
with the family to Cape Cod. Her happiest and most enjoyable times were with her family. Family gatherings being her favorite when she would enjoy cooking and preparing many of
their favorite dishes. She cherished the many times they shared, especially later with her many grandchildren. Her unique spirit and the memories she left behind will be remembered
and cherished by all those who loved and knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Brookside Cemetery in Stow, MA for Committal Services.
