Maria B. Moura, 85, of Hudson, died on Tuesday, June 17th at Marlboro Hospital surrounded by her loving family members.
Maria was born and raised in Santa Maria, the Azores of Portugal, daughter of the late Bernardino and Maria (Bairos) Moura. She has been a resident of Hudson for the past 40 plus years after emigrating from Santa Maria to the United States. She was employed at the Hudson Lock Co. for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Maria enjoyed knitting and crocheting in her spare time and also looked forward to being outdoors, especially taking her frequent long walks. She always looked forward to spending time with family members and all the special occasions they gathered for.
She is survived by her two brothers, Joao Moura and Augustino Moura of Cambridge, Canada; her sister, Ermelinda Chaves of Santa Maria, Portugal along with her many nieces, nephews; great nieces and nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late Jose Maria Moura, Manuel Moura, Jose Moura and Antonio Moura.
Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Friday, June 20th from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by a funeral mass which will be celebrated on Friday, June 20th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
