Maria's journey began when she moved to the United States in 1974. She embraced her new home while retaining her rich cultural heritage, cultivating a life filled with love and laughter. Known for her infectious laughter, Maria had a unique ability to brighten any room. Her love of music was a constant in her household and she often shared this passion by hosting big family dinners where everyone gathered to celebrate life and togetherness.
Maria took pride in being an active participant in her children lives, whether through cooking family favorites or taking memorable road trips that created lasting memories. Maria was also a dedicated grandmother and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Some of Maria's favorite pastimes was doing jigsaw puzzles and going on fishing trips to the Cape with her husband and family, creating beautiful memories in the great outdoors. She also had a passion for attending the Portuguese festival in Lowell, where she celebrated her roots and connected with the vibrant community that surrounded her.
